Pam and Jims Wedding
Who knows how long YouTube can keep this clip up. Enjoy it while it’s around. The scene on the boat is still the best!
Pam and Jims Wedding March

I didn’t even know last night’s The Office episode was Pam and Jim’s wedding. So I didn’t have any expectations but the moment I heard the Chris Brown as the wedding march started… I feared, nay I cringed at the song. Don’t get me wrong I love the YouTube video “JK Wedding Dance”. I love the spontaneity , and heck even the bad dancing. What I loved most though was how joyous it was. All other videos that imitated the original suffered and I was afraid The Office imitating it was going to fall flat.
The first few moments were tough as I was gritting my teeth. But I got suckered anyways and smiled throughout. It wasn’t that they did the dance well; It was as good as one would expect. It was the very sweet in between scenes spliced into the wedding march. Those wonderful scenes reminded me of why the Pam and Jim has made The Office trascend from being a good comedy to and incredible one.
Which Benny Ninja do I want?
Tonight’s episode of America’s Next Top Model (S13E06) throws up movement/dance coach Benny Ninja. Unlike previous seasons I don’t despise every moment he’s on screen. Typically he does this tired Vogue move while doing the splits. I definitely felt during those times he was just showing off. Tonight he was very subdued, even his manner of dress was not over the top.
Why are America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway set in Los Angeles?

Chill it ladies, stop fighting, you won!
I used to write about this topic in my old blog and it still frustrates me to end. The fashion capital of the US is New York City. The city certainly takes its place among Milan and Paris as the trinity of fashion capitals of the world. So why is both ANTM and Project Runway being held in LA? Oh the shows will talk about how LA is a fashion mecca and how Hollywood is there… blah blah blah. Yes Hollywood is in LA but it is not a fashion mecca.
The shows are shot in LA because the hosts of each show live and work there. Tyra has her talk show based there. In Heidi’s case she not only drags Project Runway over but she also makes Germany’s Next Top Model film most of their show in LA.
These fashion shows need to be in NYC. The show suffers when judges like Michael Kors and Nina Garcia can’t get away from NYC to film. This rings true of guest designer judges as well. Lindsay Lohan is not a replacement for a designer!
The tiny spoon trend in Chinese restaurants

An itsy bitsy spoon
I went out for sunday lunch today. Immediately after sitting down I noticed the size of the spoons. If you’re familiar with Chinese restaurants (in Vancouver anyways) the average Chinese porcelain spoon is a fairly substantial spoon. It typically has twice the spooning capacity of a tablespoon. The spoon sitting in front of me today was barely a tea spoon.
This is probably the third time in the past two weeks I’ve seen a tiny spoon. It makes me wonder if the restaurants think that if they use smaller utensils; that the customers will think they’re getting a larger serving.
FYI That restaurant I went today was Shanghai Village on Cambie and 16th. It’s fairly new and spoons aside we did have a pleasant meal.
Vancouver needs more Fly London Shoes and Boots
These boots and shoes really flew (groan, hahaha) out at me.
Camper Fall 2009 Boots and Shoes
I do run a shoe store. Here are some hot Camper Styles that have arrived recently. I’m pretty sure Kris + Cris Shoes has the biggest selection of Camper shoes and boots in Vancouver. It may even be the biggest in Western Canada!
Kelly Kapoor sees it like it is on The Hills
Mindy Kaling who plays Kelly on The Office had a great line from last night’s The Office (s06e03). She was talking about the rivalry that was spawned by Jim’s promotion. She talks about how she loves rivalries and compares Jim and Michael, Paris and Nichole, and LC and Heidi. Out of nowhere she comes out with, “I’d have to go with LC, Heidi’s a bad friend and her skin is terrible.” Oh Kelly you are so wise.
The City, Whitney is this still your show?
- I’m just not caring about her.
- “People think I’m a bitch”
- Olivia should be fired from the human race.
- Kelly is Yoda
After watching last nights episode The City (s02e01), I’ve come to understand what a magical ensemble the earlier season of The Hills was. It’s that very mix that is missing from The City or The Hills. In this season of The Hills, all you have are antagonists and no one is endearing. When Whitney was on The Hills she was the voice of reason but ultimately she was the good angel perched on the shoulder of Lauren.
Now into the second season, Whitney has yet to draw us into her world. She’s more like Audrina. Making bad choices in friends and men. I find myself shaking a fist at the screen constantly. Case in point, random new character Roxy appears and immediately tries to undermine Whitney both at People’s Revolution and at her new flat. She proudly tells Kelly Cutrone (love this woman and her sage advice) that people think she’s a bitch but thinks she’s just a straight shooter. Hmmm, I think she’s just a straight shooting bitch.
Speaking bitches, why is Olivia even on the show? She’s not friends with Whitney nor does she work with her anymore. We see her act like a spoilt brat at her new job at Elle. Her story line as well as Roxy’s takes up a majority of the episode. So just who is the character I’m supposed to care about?

I run a couple of fashion boutiques in Vancouver. Both of which are named Kris + Cris. One’s in Oakridge Centre Mall and the other is on Main and 26th Ave, Vancouver. We mainly do womens shoes but we carry styles for mens and kids too. On the Main St. store we have lifestyle products and of course shoes as well.
